The Magister was a single engine two-seat low-wing cantilever monoplane with a fixed tricycle undercarriage. The aircraft was of wooden construction with magnesium alloy castings used for stressted parts. It was designed for elementary training, including aerobatics and also as a communications aircraft.

Also known as the M.14 Hawk Trainer (civilian role) the Miles Magister was designed and constructed by Philips & Powis Aircraft Company.
